Axi 2204/54 Current Draw / Battery End State?
Hey folks,
My setup:
Axi 2208/54
Phoenix 10
Kokam 340 mAh
APC 8x3.8 prop
What kind of current are you drawing with this setup? I see folks are using 4 amp speed controls with this motor, but I drew around 4 amps just hovering... I'm sure it would be higher at full power (probably around 7 amps) but the thin wire in my jerry-rigged test setup caused too much of a voltage drop and my ESC kept cutting out.
Also... what is the no-load voltage of your batteries when you're done flying? Mine seem to be around 7.35 volts when my ESC starts cutting out, indicating a significant voltage drop under power. With another Phoenix 10 and an AXI 2208/34 I have the voltage can be around 6.5V no-load when done flying (same battery). I'm charging the battery right now to see how much goes into it... I'll let you know.

Some datas on the bottom of the page: http://www.mft.nu/motors/borstl/axi/2204/axi2204-54.htm You did say 2208/54...?
If you draw 7 amps you are on the hard side of running this cuite...!
And if you have a PHX-10 just adjust the cut-off and forget all the other ESC`s on the market! You didn`t say if you use 2S or 3S LiPo... The recommended cut-off voltage is 3Volt pr. cell for LiPo`s! (I use 2,5 volt, but it is NOT recommended!! Haven`t destroyed any LiPo this way yet... 6 of mine old 3S700 E-Tec`s have been threated this horrible way 150 times each and still works good, but NOT recommended)
