I never said that!! I'm not going to say anything more about this because I don't want to be in the middle of any slander or libel case. The extent of my knowledge on this subject is what Sammy told me.....as far as I know, everything Sammy told me is a lie.

Sounds good by me.
>>I suggest anyone interested contact Sammy.
The perfect suggestion....and as you are implying, it's always good to keep in mind that there are always two sides to every story, and it's likely we'll only hear one side.
>>I would like to see the planes come back.....but with what I have been told....I can tell you that ain't happening...
There was only a limited number to start with; the 800 or so that Extreme Flight originally commissioned, but rejected. It is likely by now that those have all been sold.
>>because I would like to see the manufactures work on more 50cc models at the $350 price range.
This was a special liquidation case. The sellers had little, or nothing, in the planes, so it's likely they were making as much selling them for $300 as they make now with their current ones selling them at $600. It would be great to see planes this cheap all the time, but it just isn't going to happen. Personally I think the current crop of 50cc planes at $550-$650 are a real buy at that price. With the recent market changes in China, it's likely we will be paying more for our ARF's than less.
Hmmm, seems I'm kinda getting off subject here. Sorry.

Does TOC sell these planes and parts for them? What phone number are you calling to talk to Sammy Lee?

I'd be happy if the 50cc Extra would come back as well...
.....or were those also commissioned as well by Extreme Flight and rejected...???
{maybe all three models ran out at the same time....}

You got that right. I bought 4 of these two weeks ago, I tried to order 2 more on Friday and heard nothing. I am now kicking myself for letting my buddies have the 3 other planes. These planes fly great.
I do have one question, is the Matt (Chase) at ebay and the Matt(Roman) at TOC1 the same person?

The new TOC Yak is based on the original Extreme Flight Yak design, but the one's they sell now are not part of the original run of EF planes.

The more I find out, the more I'm quite sure that "Something's smells like Lindburger cheese". Maybe its a good thing I didn't buy one of these planes. Anything goes wrong on this plane, even if you want a new wing panel which the eBay posting seemed to advertise --- there is no recourse....one shot deal.

>>I meant Extreme Flights' website not TOC... ExtremeFlight does not have a 50cc Edge or Extra for sale on their website.... ?
Oops, misunderstood you there. I guess they decided to keep it simple on the second go-around.

Yep. Some people won't buy these because of their shadowed past. You're right about parts, though I think most people bought these knowing what they were getting into. Anyone with moderate building skills can make or buy replacements for about anything on this plane, and if you total it, you probably wouldn't fix it anyway, and you would have only had $300 in it.

Ok, here's the deal. (condensed version
) EF designed and commissioned all three planes. Once production started EF decided that the quality was not up to their standards and cancelled the order. The factory then sold these planes to KMP (Kondor Model Products) who sold them for a while as their products (the planes have KMP cut into their wooden parts). Evidently somehow TOC acquired these planes and also ordered new yaks (with a few design changes) from the original factory.
EF announced a few years ago that they would come out with a 50cc Edge, Extra and Yak. Once this deal fell through (above) and they supposedly lost a bit of money they obviously decided to concentrate just on the Yak right now. Does that mean that they won't come out with an Extra or an Edge in the future? Nobody knows but them!
BTW, I bought one of the Edges off of Ebay and love it. I hate that they sold out of the planes because I was really thinking about getting an Extra.

Yea, thanks drumbum, we're back on track....and I'm definitely the most guilty.
Yes, that looks exactly where I cut mine.
***********I take that back. I cut mine from the same point as you on the rear of the elevator, but my cut only goes to about the middle of the forward angle. I don't think you need to take off as much as you are, but I don't think it will hurt anything either.
Below is your pic with a line drawn in where I cut.

thanks,, after holding it up and looking at it, where you cut it will not interere with the horn or wires so i think for good measure i will split the difference from where i have it now and go to the center of the foreward angle also..

I was one week late in getting one of these. Perhaps they are somewhere and will pop back up again.
OK back on track...
