Default q35 on seagull seafury

Hi
I have mounted a q35 on my seagull seafury http://www.jperkinsdistribution.co.u...%20-%20Seagull Before I used a sc108 2stroke + 300gram of lead to ballanse theplane. With this engine I have to put 40gram lead in the tail. Wil the plane be to heavy with this engine? It flow like a trainer with the other and it have flaps but I never neded them before, but maybe I should learn to use them now[8D]

I testet the engine with a 16x10 prop ang got 8200rpm should I try another prop ?

Around 7200 rpm would be more desirable for a Quadra 35.

The plane will be much heavier than before but should still fly OK. Make your approaches rather fast until you learn how it reacts with the extra weight when landing.

Thanks
maybe I should try a 18x8 prop? to get the rpm down.

I dont think I will be flying this on max trottle with a 16x10 anyway.

I'd go with the 18X8 prop. As w8ye said 7200rpm is a good rpm for this engine. As for the weight factor, you're only adding 40 grams to the total weight correct? That is only 1.4 ounces. The plane should not fly any different with the exception of using a slower turning gas engine. You could try moving the rx battery towards the back to shift some weight if you want. What prop were you using on the 1.08?

I was adding 40gram in the tail becouse the engine is 200-300gram heavier than th 108 engine. So the total added weight is 250-350gram.

On the 108 engine I used a 15x8 and the plane flow werry nice. But I am tierd of engine cut and dead stick landings. Thats wy I want to try a gasser

Your 1.08 + 300 grams of lead correct? If you remove the lead and the 1.08 and install the q35 but add only 40 grams to the tail, your net weight gain is only 40 grams plus the balancing weight of the q35. Maybe a total additional weight of 150 grams. That about 6 ounces. Shouldn't be a big deal in this plane. Take the lead out of the tail and move the battery back some.

The weight of the 108 is 830gram + 300gram lead = 1130gram. The q35 is ca1500gram + 40gram lead = 1540gram.

That wil give a total adding of 410gram. OK.

I dont think it should be a problem anyway, it wil give me 86gram/dm2 of wing loading. it was about 79gram/dm2 before.

Anyone know why digital servos have to be used on the seagull seafury?

I have no idea I will maiden mine tomorrow (sat) I used spectrum digi servos(6Kg) on elevators, rudder and throttle beacuse I had them to hand but the rest are on standard analogue cheapies.
My model has come out at 9llb and I dont feel the flaps or alierons are large enough to give even a standard servo any issues as I doubt the flaps will ever get used and the alieron movements as per the book are miniscule.
I fitted a saito 125A fourstroke in mine and mounted a 2500 sub "c" batt pack on the engine box this gave me a C of G at 65mm measured at the wingtip.
