Looks like it's going to be a little breezy on Saturday. About 16mph winds [

No, not really. The part of the lake we will be flying over is very deep and most people fish in the smaller northern bay. We will have a lot of room to turn and shouldn't have to fly over anyone.

I probably won't make it
my wife found a babysitter for our 2 kids so we are going to have a date that afternoon
(it has been a long long while since we have had a date, so it is a good excuse)
If I don't see you guys there, have fun

Looks like I'll be having a building night with some friends on Saturday. Glue, beer, wait, repeat.
I hope you guys have fun! Every couple of years I'll haul things out to Bush Lake. One thing that I find very handy is an old red sled. If you're not comfortable driving on the ice, toss all of your gear on one and walk it out. I've never had to use skis or floats. Unless there's been a recent snow, the surface is usually compressed enough to support a 6 or so pound model without too much trouble.

[sm=thumbs_up.gif]It was great getting to meet you all and I definitely think we need to do a frozen fly sometime soon again. this time I think we need to cordon off some space to avoid the crowding.
Either way, I was able to get a picture up from our fly...take a peek. Mike, I tried to 'Shop Victor in, you'll have to let me know if I did a good enough job (oh, he's the one on the far left in case you can't tell).
Cheers Everyone to a great fly out! We'll be in touch very soon again.

What a great time. I really enjoyed it. I don't know if I enjoyed the flying, the watching fly, or the meeting more, but all of it was great. All said, I think that might have been one of the nicest days to fly in a long time. Considering the -30F readings we had two weeks ago, this was tropical. I'd really like to do another one like this toward the end of Feb or mid March. It might be tough for me to do because of travel and our son's 1st B-day, but I will try.
All the best,
Curtis

I definitely enjoyed the watching and the meeting more than the flying (not that I didn't enjoy the flying). It's scary to say, but I must be getting old. I think I enjoy just spending time with people as much as anything. It was really great meeting new friends who seem just like old friends.
Hope to see you next week at the auction!
