Default Cheap indoor foamy

Hello guys,
I have read through all the post and it looks like everyone is using brushless motors and lipo batteries. Is it possible to put together a small indoor foamy using a brushed motor and regular nicad batteries? If so what would you recommend? I am a poor boy, but I'd love to have a foamy.

it "can" be done...but you not will be happy...the power to weight ratio just won't do....

FFF fuse (or PBF type flyer) + IPS in "A" gearing with 9x7 gws slowfly prop + ICS100 + R4II receiver 2 Pico servos + 7cell 300mAH battery = indoor foamy. All GWS gear.

Or did you mean a super indoor 3D foamy?

Technically, the Pico Tigermoth is a foamy and flies very well indoors.

Or you could get one of those foam gliders and convert it to indoor use, see the many "dirt cheap indoor" threads on rcgroups.

None of which require brushless, or lipo.

Look for the Gym-blu on RCGroups. I built one and it is a great slow flyer. It uses the cheap GWS IPS motor and gearbox and is made from an arrow shaft and some fan fold foam. I use a 2 cell lipo on mine to keep the weight down. The small lipos don't cost any more than the equivalent nicad or NIHM, and they give much longer flight times.
