"Nasty" question- C/F rods?
Are there any good substitutes for the carbon fiber. Is a hardwood dowel rod too heavy? From what I've seen, C/F is expensive, and not available locally. 1/8" hardwood is way too flexy to be of any use, but 1/4" is prob'ly too heavy? I don't care about being able to hover, but I would like it to actually fly!

If you don't snap it around too hard, you could run strapping tape where the CF rod would be on the top and bottom of the wing.
Another option would be to make it with a foiled wing. The struture gives it strength and you don't need any CF.
