I think you mean a B2 bomber. The B1 isn't a flying wing - the B2 is.

What exactly are you asking for - plans?

If you could rig up a foam bow it wouldnt be insanely difficult to build.

Hope someone builds one. That with 4x EDF units on it would be a screamer.

I could create a working scale version of it.

How it would fly?? Ok, there is not enough clearance for a couple of forward mounted props, going ducted would kill the scale appearance, which only leaves it as single engine pusher. Now we have that figured out, the battle begins with getting the COG to work correctly, and since it has a fuse pushing to so far aft, that much more nose weight will be necessary. You can comprimise and cut out an area for the pusher to have prop clearance and place it within the wing/fuse, but that's going to again take away from the scale appearance a bit, but logically the best way to go about it. Vertical stab on it is too small, it will need to be larger, again, another compromise.

In the end, you get a plane that looks somewhat similar to the original that fly's, or you get a plane that's needing to add a ton of weight to, or you get a plane you have to hack together that no longer looks like the original at all. This is why there are no takers, too many compromises unless you start adding some totally out of the box, very expensive add on's that nobody has ever used for rc, or any plane for that matter the likes of which, I will not even entertain on this board.

Actualy, I think I may end up trying to get someone to make one of the RTF SR-71 blackbird kits from banana hobby into the queens other ship.

It seems to be a bit easier of a build.

If it needs a vert stab, we could use some stiff clear plastic so it isnt seen perhaps. Thrust vectoring is indeed the answer.

If you want the planes to fly souly upon thrust vectoring, you can toss aerodynamics out the window and embrace the expensive world of computer aided flight systems. From there, let your dreams take you where your hearts desire, and in fact, making it neutral in that department, ie. no lift, no direction of travel, ie. ie. forward, backwards, sideways, up, down, flight brings you right back to what shape of a vehicle gentlemen.............hint, my screen name gives it away, lol.

It is strange to toss the term, Vectored Thrust, around like it is so doable now.


RC modeling really has come a long way in a short time.

actually it is doable to have vectored thrust these days. a simple working version of vectored thrust can be seen in any of the air hogs planes. also the mad scientist from ******** has built a pusher prop jet that uses a more complex version of it. the pushers are mounted on the elevator and move up and down with it, and are also servo controlled to move left and right as rudder control. i cant imagine how much money he is spending on his designs, but from watching these things fly, its easy to see just how possible thrust vectoring can be. but as for the second design, i agree it is going to need some type of fin on it to stabilize it. you could always try building some scaled down prototypes of it without a fin to see the characteristics of it without one. and also when you asked about making it thrust vectored were you reffering to just having it 2 channel like the air hogs planes? chris
