Why, when I type my user name into the "Seach" tab, I only get post that ended a year ago. Nothng is recent? Do I need to correct some settings or something?

When you open the "Search" feature, look up in the top left corner of the screen. Click on the "Old Search" link.

The link will open the old search window, which contains a "Author" feature. Put your nickname in that box and hit Enter. All your recent posts will be listed.
