Answer? Not very.
I hate to admit my favorite site also has the worst servers of any site that I visit. I don't know if you guys host your own servers or you use a service but it's time for a change.
If I were the webmaster here I 'd be embarrassed at how bad the performance is here.

Do you think any one pay any attention to people here We are just a drop in the bucket to what they are reaping from the public. They look at the hit's on a sight and add $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ signs

It's a little more complicated than that.

It's still besides the point, the problems need to be addressed, nothing seems to be improved in any way shape or form. Absolutely ridiculous! Just tried to reply to this post and it just hung there.

I read somewhere that this site is now on Chinese servers. Don't know if that's true, but it sure would explain a lot! []

I tried posting a couple photos in my current build thread this morning and kept getting a "500 Internal Server Error". This is getting old! These types of problems have been going on for well over a year and should have been handled long ago. I really like this site, but my next build thread will be somewhere else! It's getting to be too frustrating here!

I'm thinking that the problem started back when RCU had excellent response characteristics. They custom-coded cute enhancements. They tweaked this and tweaked that. When someone made an offer to buy the website - great for the original owners - the new owners moved it to new servers - different hardware - different (untweaked) software. Then they drop this big ole modified turd into a new environment with (probably) zero documentation - surprise - all of the twiddles-n-tweaks don't work. All of the redundant and replication of data went down the toilet. The load balancing, what load balancing? Duh! Happens all the time. Why? Immature (or no) development procedures. God only knows "geeks" hate to document anything. They haven't for 40 years - why the heck start now? The only way that "we" the user community affect this mess is thru that wonderful metric call "hits". Pftzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

In the end, we get what we paid for! Just ask the guys flying ARFs. (just kidding).

I'm sure there's a lot more of us but they don't post here. I have problems 90% of the time here. Posts hang or I get SERVER 500 ERROR.
I thought it was on my end but other forums work great and that's were I now spend the majority of my time.
The Tweak Elves have really messed up this once great site.

I've learned to "high light and copy" my posts before I submit them. That way I can "paste" them two or three times, into the post, before I give up.

I wonder if this will post when I hit the "OK" icon?[:@]
I'd better copy it 1st.[:-]

I have enjoyed the seaplane forum here, and used to enjoy the parkflyer backyard flyer one as well. That one has been single-handedly ruined, but I'll miss the seaplane forum guys.

I sincerely hope that all the advertising money dries up and the site goes -s up very soon.

A sinking ship.

The whole site seems fast and reliable now, 5 months later. I regret the bad remarks I made while replying hastily.

I still sincerely hope that the mods will put a stop to all of the off topic government energy conspiracy nonsense that goes on and on and on in the parkflyer / backyard flyer forum.
