Cannot edit posts more than an hour old

Why can I not edit a post that’s only an hour or two old or older, but I can edit a post immediately after posting it? I made a post that has a few autocorrect errors that I want to fix so people understand what I said.

If users are not allowed to edit their posts after just a few hours, with no allowance of changing the “rules” just because of a few bad seeds, then I think I may rethink about posting here. That may be brash, but I think it’s a tad ridiculous to require a moderator to edit posts. Some of us have been here for 15 years or more and have amassed 9,000+ posts - primarily because this is the better forum IMHO. I cannot think of how long it’s been since one of my posts was reported or I was scolded by moderation for one of my posts. Can the admin team rethink the decision to revoke the edit function?

So this is just another thing that RCU Admin is going to tell it’s users to pound sand on?

There is unfortunately not a setting for changing edit time by area of the site.

Thanks for being stand-up guys here. Seriously, thank you In this time of unprecedented “togetherness” and “communityism”, people still gotta act a fool. Frickin righteous.

I’ve been a user here for what... 14 years. Almost 10k posts. Never been suspended, and have had but only a few posts deleted. Yet Internet Brands nor the moderators can answer a simple question.

Just use a new post to mark it sold. That's what most other users do.

LoL. Sounds like the bigger problem is forum software functionality. The problems you show to be evident here are not evident on other sites with far more users and more traffic. But if putting a band-aid on it lets you sleep better at night, so be it.

This is exactly right and there have been several threads on this. Please do a quick search when you have questions before posting a thread. Indefinite editing allows unscrupulous users to edit prices after a sale agreement. There's no way to change the edit window based on the area of the site. Those settings are global.

I miss the old RCU.
