Who thought of RCU, who made it, and how long did it take??
Just a little quesiton that I had in my little head about this.......I always wondered how long it took the person (or persons/group) to think of this RCU, design everything, and put it together and everything that a website needs.....anyone know the answer to this odd question.....
BTW, on the same track as this: Does anyone know who ther FIRST......VERY FIRST person to join RCU (other than the designers or thoughters if they did)...................THANKS......

If you look at the members list, there are probably less than 500 members that signed up in 2001 as the site was taking off. However, many on that list have continued to post, and have really helped grow this fantastic site.

the member id's don't correspond to the order of joining but the join date will. we preserved that in the merge of rc universe and rc airport.
as far as who thought of rcu it was me. It took me 24 hours to get the forum online and a few months for it to really take off. 3 years later we are almost at 100,000 members and more than 3x the size of the next largest RC website in terms of registered members. I merged with RC airport last year to push the development of the site faster with my now partner michael kranitz. today we have 4 full time people who work on the site night and day.
to design everything including code and overall design was 1000's of hours and about a dozen programmers and graphic designers. It has been an amazing and exciting ride so far and I'm looking forward to the next 3 years!

I came aboard 5 days after marc launched it, what was I thinking???? Just kidding!!!!! It's been one heck of a ride and I still remember from the old RCO Marc wanting to do this but the owner of that site didn't want his help and the rest is history. there are many sites out there but none that have this much traffic or people that are so knowledgeable.
Ok Marc, I said nice things do I still get that 25% Extra you promised me??[>:]
