Default How do I post an image?

How do I post an image? I think I found the answer, but I don't see the box to check (embed picture).

For graphical files (jpeg, gif, bmp, png), you can embed the uploaded picture in the post directly by checking the box: “Embed picture in post”.
I know how to add an attachment, but that makes a thumbnail in your add. How do I keep the picture big.
I tried clicking the (image) and then putting in the url, but that didn't work, I just keep getting the red X. Can someone please help me out? Thanks

1) Check that the url is going specifically to the image path-- http : // www . website . com / image . jpg
2) Some hosts will not allow their images to be remotely linked. If this is the case you may always use RCU's photo gallery, then use the [img] tags.
