Default Posting in Direct support forums?

Honest question....

SOmeone posted a question in a Radio direct support forum.... it was un answered.. I answered it...it was easy...
but my post has since been deleted and the question remains unanswered.

My question is... are the direct support forums closed to general users posting (unless of course we have a question) and only support people can post??

Just curious
Thanks
Exeter

Exeter,

This is posted at the top of the direct support forums.

DIRECT SUPPORT FORUMS
Several of our support forums are established for the purpose of receiving specific product support directly from the vendor to whom the forum is dedicated.

* When a thread is started by a member in a specific direct support forum, only the company and the posting member may be involved in the conversation.
* If you would like the company AND other members to post their opinions, please post your thread outside of the support forum.
* If you would like to include your opinion on a support forum thread, please email or PM the member your thoughts.
* All posts submitted by members other than the original thread starter will be subject to moderation.

EXCEPTION TO THE ABOVE: This rule applies ONLY to those direct support forums that indicate ONLY company responses are allowed. If such is not noted then both members & company may respond within that forum.
It's been my experience that some will allow posts from members. The JR support forum does as I have witnessed it frst hand. I'm not sure if there is a way to tell which ones allow ti/disallow it. I'll try to fond out and post back in here

Each company should note at the top via sticky if they don't allow members to answer support questions. If they don't have a sticky you can assume you can post it. if your post got whacked you should post in that forum asking if they do/don't allow member answers and if not could they post it per our rules (you can point them to this thread)

thanks

One of my posts was deleted, was my fault. I got a courteous note from the mod noting it was against the rules. I apologised as I hadn't realised I was even in the manufacturer's forum nor did I realise I was not allowed to post.

I will point this thread out to the MOd because it is somewhat misleading, but you have cleared it up and there was no stickie. Thanks

good question acres, thanks for asking.
