DB crash...not cookies. we caught it within 10 minutes and got it fixed right after.

np...btw we are exploring some pretty cool software that will mirror our db live and allow database load balancing. this will give us more speed and much less likelihood of any downtime or errors as we continue to grow. In the meantime we continue to code optimizations in and add necessary hardware.
