Only actual JPG's and GIF's can be uploaded to the marketplace. A filed named 1 will not upload, but 1.jpg should as long as the file is an actual jpg. Some photo editing programs will call a file a jpg or a gif but add non-standard code to the file which makes it a non-standard image.

If a file uploads to the forums, it should upload to the marketplace. Give it another try and report back your findings.

Try naming the file "one". I had problems a week ago when trying to upload pictures to the marketplace when the file name contained numbers.

The pic you posted in your first post is 800x600 pixels. Try reducing it to 640x480 and see if that helps. I think I also had problems when there was a space in the file name.

I just edited my Laser 200 add and added your original (800x600) pic in your first post to my add (I did change it back to my original pic). I did not have any problems uploading it. You can try to copy and save this pic and see if that will load. If not, check your virus scanner settings, etc. If that does not work, then I have no idea whats up.

How did you copy my pic and then insert it into your ad? I tried a couple of ways, none worked! Tried Internet Explorer instead of FireFox and got the same results. I looked at the path and didn't see any 'illegal' characters...hey, maybe they were referring to me????

I just opened up the pic, right clicked, chose "save as", and put it on my desktop. I then went to "edit" my add, and I changed the pic. I only saw your pic upload, then I changed the pic back to my laser.

tailskid...do you have some firewall enabled that might be blocking the upload? any standard jpg or gif should work fine and we do the resizing on our end. we are getting 100's of ads uploaded per day so it must be something peculiar to your setup we have to figure out

tailskid,
I just logged in as you and was able to upload the image you posted in the first message of this thread without any problems. I'm with Marc on this one. It sounds like you have a program on your computer that is somehow preventing images from being uploaded in the marketplace.

I give up...I can upload all the pictures I want to the forums, including this one but can't to the Marketplace. I can't even upload to my Gallery! Guess it is a lost cause because I turned everything off (McAfee) and it still doesn't work. Grrrrrrrr
