Are you trying to upload to a forum post? The only files allowed are [.gif .jpg .txt]. PDF files will not work for a forum post.

As far as I know, only the three file types defined above can be attached to a post.

Another option (if you have the resources) is to upload the file to a web host and then just link to it for others.

I picked some PDF files at random from those I have available on my web page. Some are relatively large. I got a success message.
