Default First attempt at close formation with head tracked DJI FPV Flightline Spitfire

My buddy, Jason's first attempt at close formation flying. Annoyingly he did much better than I did on my first attempt !

Pretty good first effort. But the gimbal is way too big!

Compare to the cockpit, it does not fit inside. The camera is sticking outside of the cockpit. Also compare to the creations by your compatriot, RoboBiggles.

Generally we find poor flight experience with the camera in the cockpit and looking through poor transparent plastic as distorts the light and gives reflections etc. Not a fan of doing it the RoboBiggles way. I don't like anything obstructing the view.

Fair enough. Such is the challenges of flying from scale cockpit, be it full scale or model Spitfire, views from the cockpit should give one a sense that's inside a Spitfire, in my opinion. But you do you. Cheers!
