I don't nderstand very well the scope of your question...
But here are some comments.
That wing is in accordance to the box wing concept and it's intendet to dramatically decrease the induced drag of the wing. The idea is not new since there were many attemps and studies on that configuration but (and I don't know why) no model was developed comercially. Another configuration with that basis is the joined wing, also with the same aerodynamic scope.
In both configurations, structure takes also a lots of benefint since its weight decreases substantially... Check AIAA-85-0274 and NASA contractor Report 4004
Regards
Guille

Hum ... ! Our system is better in the Colab configuration and we delivered our first UAV for civilian use to a Swiss Cie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnUtRfLiBRs

And an ultra light aircraft will modified in Colab from http://www.g1aviation.com/photosaeronef.html soon ! Here a test with a RC version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LHU_SrTc3w for 2017 or middle 2018.

We walk slowly but surely, Sir !

Have fun !
