Default Fix a receiver?

Hello, I have an old but good (so I hear) Futaba PCM 1024, FP-R129DP receiver. It came off of a Kyosho Concept 30 SE mixed with SR-X (has upgrades). It dosen't seem to work, but I would like to try and fix it if I can. When I plug the receiver in, it will feed power to the gyro. I hear the gyro power up and the rudder servo (connected to the gyro) centers itself, or at least glitches out momentarily. None of the other servos do anything, and so it would seem to me that something in the rx is fried. So, any ideas on what could be wrong, or how to check (I do have a multimeter that I can check components with), or is it in the micro-chip and I'm screwed? Or, perhaps is there someone out there that I can send it to and have it fixed? I understand that Futaba services these things, but this was amongst the list of dinosaurs that they will no longer fix. Now, suppose that it does RIP for all the rest of eternity, any suggestions on what a good replacement rx would be? (It has 4 JR - NES 507's and one JR NES 517 (with separate servos for throttle and collective pitch control)) Should I replace the old mechanical gyro as well, if so, what's a good one? (I'm looking for stability and smoothness over performance) I know, already a lot of questions for one post but just one more: is my receiver compatible with a Futaba Skysport 4YF Transmitter? Thanks for any input - Gorchew

Well, for one, we'd not be able to tell you what's wrong. That takes time on the bench doing various tests. No way to tell you if it's a minor component or a major "chip". We don't service them any more because they have been out of production for so long that the unit's specific components are no longer available.

The replacement for the R129DP receiver is the R149DP. Here's the stock number and MSRP:

FUTL0911 R149DP PCM 72MHZ W/O CRYSTAL US$224.99

These parts can be ordered through any hobby retailer who sells Futaba systems and accessories. It's discounted a lot by various sellers. Check your favorite retailer for pricing.

Thanks Bax, I'm looking at the "<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small; ">3dx factory HDX6I newest 2.4G radio and receiver (6CH)" on the "PCM" link in your reply. What is your opinion of this Tx/Rx setup? Thanks - Gorchew</span>

I think you are asking about something else. A "3dx factory HDX6I newest 2.4G radio and receiver (6CH)" is not Futaba equipment.
