My old Futaba 9 ZAP channel 48 radio has developed a fading of the display print on the menu screen. It is so faint that I can hardly read the input screen, and it is even worse in cold weather. I was told these screens have been discontinued. Can anyone help with this problem? My transmitter has also had a couple of incidents where the receiver did not get a signal. Two different receivers went into hold so I assume it is in the transmitter. Is there any connection with this signal problem and the faded screen? By the way, I changed the batteries in the transmitter recently, both the 9.8 volt and the memory battery. I am not getting a low voltage prompt on either of these batteries. Thanks, Jim

Depending on how long it's been since your 9Z has had a check up, you might be having issues with your RF output, your transmitter's memory, and other problems. Without seeing the radio it is hard to determine what may be going on with it.
We do still stock these screens here at the Futaba Service Center and if you would like to send this in for a check up, please see our sticky at the top of this forum for instructions on returning items to our service center.
