I am buying two new radios, a futaba 7C for myself and a futaba 6EX for my son.. My question is this.. Can I set my sons plane up with the 6EX as the main radio to his plane and then use the 7C as the buddy box when i am teaching him to fly, both units are 2.4? Thanks for any help...

Yes you can, either can be a Student or a Teacher, you will simply need to purchase a trainer cord FUTM4415. Make sure the setting on both radios match as closely as possible (trims, DR's, ATV's, etc) and if you have any questions, you will find the manuals online on our website at:

I have the cord, the 6EX is the Main TX to the plane (the teacher) and the 7C is the student box. I see what you mean about the trims, DR, endpoints and reversing close to the same..
My question,
can I justuse1 of the model memories on the 7C for his plane? If I get everything set on it, long as the 7C is on that model, it all should be good, right?
