When you use a mix or a condition, or one of the operations in the Model Menu, or the Throttle Cut and Idle Down functions, you can set which switch and which position does the activation.
If you are setting a channel to a switch by using the Function section in the Linkage Menu, then you are not setting on/off positions. You are telling the transmitter that a channel is operated by a switch. If it's a 3-position switch, then you're setting the channel to have 3 positions: one end, middle, other end. If you put a servo on the channel, you'll see what's going on. If you use a 2-position switch controlling a channel, then you have it operating as one end, other end. You never set on/off that way.
