Hi,
I'm starting an R/C program at the middle school I teach at. We're getting ready to get started and a local company has donated the funds to purchase a 7C radio. Before I order it I would like to be sure that it will work for what we want to do with it. My 8U doesn't utilize any of the rate functions, atv's, etc. when hooked up to a buddy box. My son's 9C is supposed to I believe but I have never tried it? If I order the 7C and do some aileron/ rudder mix, dual rates, atv- would those functions work with the buddy box or not? If the 7C is not our best choice for our program- could you recommend a radio that would be the best for this application? The way things are looking I may have enough kids interested to do two planes!
Thanks for any help!

I'd like to get this ordered this week but I'd really like to know if the settings will work with the buddy box. I know my 8U does not work that way but I've heard the 9C does? I don't want to spend the company's donated 250 bucks toward the program on a radio if it won't work for what we want to do.
Any help would be appreciated.

Go to futaba website and look up the 7c manual. I just bought this radio and the instructions say that you can set all 7 channels to a N, F, or - setting. the N means normal and this means that the set channel can be controlled by the student box using any programing on the student box. the F is for function. this means that the student box can control this channel using the programed mixes set at the master radio. for example the student box would operate dual aileron servos on seperate channels with flaperon just by moving the aileron stick. the - setting means the student box cannot use this channel even with the trainer switch ativated.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. The radio is now on order through my LHS. If it works as described it should be a great radio for our middle school R/C program.
