Default 7CAP vs. 9CAP

I purchased a Futaba 6EXA a couple of years ago and am now ready to upgrade to either a 7CAP or a 9CAP. I found a really good review on the 7CAP at http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/a...article_id=321. But I haven't been able to locate a similar review of the 9CAP. What I would REALLY like to find is a side-by-side comparison of the two! All I will need is the transmitter, since I already have several receivers, servos, etc. My local hobby shop can get me a 7CAP transmitter for $160 and a 9CAP for $280. Can anyone tell me what you get with the 9CAP for the additional $120 (besides 2 additional channels)? Thanks.

My understanding is when you go to the 9 you get much more flexibility. One thing that comes to mind is the ability to use two elevator or aileron servos and mix them with the transmitter. Very important if you are going to go giant scale. I would opt for the 9.

Webeflyin/Glenn I have a year behind me on the 9c. BEST INVESTMENT I EVER MADE!!!!! The ease of setup and mixing is top notch. Reading the specs on the two radios dose not tell the whole story. A friend recently bought the 7C thinking it would be almost like my 9C. While it may be a fine radio for the money it wont hold a candle to the 9c. The LCD for one is a lot cheaper and harder to read. The programing from what I can tell is also more difficult. He is having to change screen 2-3 times to do the same thing I do one 1 screen.

If you can swing it go with the 9.

This compares all the features:

The 9C transmitter is much more capable of a lot of things than the 7C. However, if you don't need them, the 7C is an excellent transmitter.
