Default Solved t6exa flapperons problem.

Myself and others have had a problem getting the flapperons to operate properly using this transmitter, and Futaba had been no help either. Now this may be a newbie mistake, but in the manual it does not mention that when using 2 servos for the ailerons, you don't need to slave ch.6 to ch.1 if you plan on using flapperons. The slaving for the ailerons is in the flapperon program.Futaba you might want to add this to your automated response database as when searching for an answer to this I found several others who have had the same experience.

We're not sure what you mean when you mention that you have difficulty getting the flaperons to operate "correctly". Do you mean that the flaperon function's not operating correctly?

If you're using two aileron servos and not going to use the ailerons a flaps, then you do have to slave channel 6 to channel 1.

If you want to use the ailerons as flaps, too, then you use the flaperon function.

You don't do both.

Exactly, thats what myself and some others I have talked to did. We activated both programs not understanding that, for flapperons you don't need to slave the channels as you need to do for an aileron only function.I thought that the 2 functions were separate, as if all the flapperon function did was to move the center point of both servos at the same time.my point was that a sentence explaining that the slaving didn't need to be done for flapperons could be added. One person I talked to has already sold his radio and bought a different one instead. When you slave ch.1 to ch.6 and activate the flapperon function you lose most of the travel in one servo although I don't remember which one at the moment.

Maybe alittle more background would be helpful. When you talk to someone about using two servos for ailerons they will tell you that you need to slave 2 channels together. So as I was setting up this plane I initally put the other aileron servo in ch 5,and slaved ch 5 to ch 1.when I got to the flapperons and saw they wanted the other servo on ch 6 I moved it there and changed the slaving of that servo to ch 6.Then I activated the flapperons and lost roughly half of the travel on ch.6 servo. When I would turn off the flapperons everything worked fine.My problem was I did not understand that when flapperons are activated it not only induces a reflex action in one servo while moving the other one down to create flaps,it also slaves the two together to make for proper aileron function. That was what I didn't understand that both functions can't be activated together.Lastly I know others have made the same mistake, and its frustrating when you can't find someone who can tell you how to fix it.
