Help my 9CAF has lost its LED "lighting" several times while I have been flying. I tried to brighten the screen to no avail. After I land and kill the motor I shut off the radio and turn it back on and the screen lights is back on. This has happened 3 times in 150 hours of use. Is there a problem with this transmitter or is the radio set to do this after some time?
Thank You for your help,
Victor

victor, It is not a default of the radio. does your radio sit in direct sunlight between flight times? or is it in a case, under your wing, or otherwise protected from excessive exposure to direct sunlight?
if its not in the light except to fly and doing htis, then the display needs to be replaced, please send it for service.

Ann Marie,
This has happened to me several times over this past flyingseason. I purchased my 9C from a RCU member. What is the charge for this service work?

Geist,
Depending upon what it needs, the checkup would be $30 plus $7.99 shipping. If the LCD needs replacement it is $60 and the checkup fee would be waived and you would be charged only actual labor needed.

Thanks,
I may send it in next year.
Since it has only happened a hand full of times and not effected the usage, then I don't see an immediate problem. The timer still beeps at me so that is what is most important!

I have one other question...My Radio has been in a case whenever I'm not flying. Will the LED replacement be covered under the warrantee? I sent in the warrantee card in February 02

Victor, assuming you purchased it from a US dealer who purchases through us and not a gray market dealer and provide proof of purchase, and assuming that the problem is a warranty issue, yes, it will be covered (for example, if there are signs the case has been opened by a non-factory tech, or there is fuel damage, etc... that voids your radio's warranty).
