I have run across this question in another thread and I figured I would ask becasue I wanted to use for of these servos in a goldburg extreme. there has been conflict with what futaba and what tower hobbies say about batteries for these servos. futaba says on the box to use nicd batteries only. tower hobbies say you can use NiMh batteries of good enough capacities. what is the verdict on battery power for these servos ?

When the servo first came out, NiMH cells weren't quite as commonly used, and were not able to deliver the current this servo requires. The tech notes online state:
"If using NiMH or Li-Po batteries, make sure they are capable of delivering approximately 2 amps for each servo."
As long as the battery packs can deliver the current needed by the servos when under load, it doesn't really matter which chemistry the battery pack is made of.
