Default 9VAP Module

Will the transmitter module from my old 9VAP work in my 9CAP transmitter?
Thanks!

It's not intended to. You need to use a TP module in the 9C. The 9V uses the TK module.

Mr Baxter,
Thanks!
I thought if I couldn't sell the 9VAP transmitter then I could at least salvage the module from it to use in the 9C on a different frequency.
But...guess not
Thanks again!

Bax,
That is not what your website says. Here is a copy and paste:

"Why are there different modules for the 9Z and the 8U? Can I use my 9Z module in my 8?
The TK (NOT TK-FSS) module, which is designed specifically for the 9V and 9Z models, is also safe as a replacement for the TP module. The TP module, which is used in the 5U, 7U and 8U radios, may NOT be used in the 9 channel radios in place of the TK module.

The TK-FSS module is a synthesized system module compatible only with the 9Z."

The link is: http://www.futabarc.com/faq/product-faq.html#q19

Which is it?

We didn't realize that FAQ was still there. The module for the 9V/9Z really isn't recommended to be used outside of those transmitters. Maybe once, but it's not a good match.

Mr Baxter,
Will I damage my 9C if I try it?
If not then if I get a good range check shouldn't I be safe?
Thanks!

Bax,

Page 10 of the online users manual for the 9C also says that the TK modules may be used. No limitations/restrictions are indicated.

http://www.futaba-rc.com/manuals/9c-manual-v1_2.pdf

This is also consistent with the FAQ referenced earlier, and this answer from Krysta on RCU:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_14...tm.htm#1455509

Note that TP modules CANNOT be used in 9V or 9Z transmitters, but that TK modules can be used in 9C's, acccording to the references.

A little off the subject of this thread but on the subject of the 9C I have a question for Bax. I want to back up the model memory of the 9C and campac. Is there a way to do that? I have heard of a cable you plug the campac into and then to a computer along with some software that is free somewhere. If so, that would only back up the campac memory but not the models resident in the 9C itself. Questions, questions??????
Thanks
