Default Problem with new 9Z WC2

Two months ago i bought a new 9z WC2. It sat in the box for about three weeks until i sold my 9Z WC1. When i got the new 9Z out and started to program it it quit transmitting. I thought at first that the receiver battery may be dead. I changed receiver batteries but it did not help. I changed receivers and that also did not help. I then turned off the transmitter and let it set on the table for about an hour. When i turned everything back on it started workin again. After about another fifteen minutes it quit once more.

I deleted my name and all model selections out of the transmitter and placed it back in the case, and the case back in the box. I took it back to the hobby shop( K C Hobby). I thought at this point that if you buy something new and it doesn't work you can return or exchange it. I leave the radio system with the hobby shop. The hobby shop calls Futaba on monday morning and explains to them that this is a new radio and that i would like them to return it and let me buy another from there stock. They were told by the Futaba service center that the radio would have to sent in to be fixed. The hobby shop packs up the radio system and sends it to the Futaba service center.
After waiting for the radio for about ten days i get it back from the hobby store with a letter from the Futaba service center saying that the radio was on PPM and the receiver with it the 319DPS is on PCM and that there is no problem with the radio.

Let me explain something. I have been using Futaba radios for twenty years. I first had eleven radios four channel, six channel, and then the super seven. I had a 9ZAW. I then had a 9Z WC1. I know how to use the radio. The transmitter quit again after being on for about ten minutes. When i sent the radio system in it had a time of 2:21 when i got it back it had a time of 2:29. It doesn't look to me like anyone spent much time looking for a problem. What am i supposed to do with this radio system? There is no way i can trust it to fly a $10,000 airplane. I would go buy a JR radio, but considering i have sixteen Futaba receivers and no telling how many servos and accessories i would be hurting myself.

I understand not being able to return a used rado, but why should i have to keep a new one that i cannot use?

I fly a 9ZWCII also and while I have not experienced that problem I have experienced the much less than stellar ability of the service center to diagnose any problem that doesn't smack them square in the face.
I had two of three R-149DP receivers go into intermittent function. They could not duplicate the failure and sent them back unrepaired with a note that they were out of warranty.
In the end I junked them because I could not afford the liability of using them in heavy iron giant scale.
You should have better luck than that since your transmitter is brand new. However sometimes it takes a little direct contact to gain a satisfactory resolution. What they think is a good job and doing the right thing doesn't always square with reality.

I noticed in your post that you also had a largr number of Futaba Receivers.

I also have 25 of the older R129DP receivers so like you I am loathe to change. This does not mean that I will not change at some point but at the moment I will use the older proven performance units until I can get comfortable with the idea of random undiagnosed failures.
