Futaba gear set lubricant for S3003
I'm rebuilding the gear train on a Futaba servo S3003. This is an all nylon gear set. The original gears have a light lubricant, white in color, on some of the gear train members. What type of lubricant should I use when replacing the nylon gear train? This is my first adventure into the inside of the servo. Looks like the replacement is a fairly straightforward procedure anything I should beware of in the procedure that's not obvious?
Thanks Bert.
I'm all thumbs, the problem is the're dumb thumbs.

RE: Futaba gear set lubricant for S3003
Hi Bert,
White lithium is used by many people. It is available at most fishing tackle stores under the common name of "Reel Lube." Our techs use a Molybdenum grease, this is sold by many companies and fairly easy to find, some model railroad companies even sell this for their
power gear boxes.
Changing gears in servos is fairly easy, nothing out of the ordinary, although I find once I have grease on my fingers, placement of the pins is easiest with a small needle nose pliers to prevent the pin from slipping away.
I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.
Sincerely,
