Futaba PCM Receiver question
I just bought a plane that has a Futaba PCM receiver on channel 63. I use a Futaba Cap 7 transmitter on channel 20. Can I put a channel 20 crystal in this receiver and use it??

RE: Futaba PCM Receiver question
Hi hunter41,
Definitely not.
The receiver is on 75Mhz, this is a ground frequency and cannot be used for aiplanes.
You will need to purchase a new receiver on 72Mhz band on channel 20 to be able to use the 7CAP transmitter.
I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.

RE: Futaba PCM Receiver question
I have a Futaba 7 Cap 7 Ch PCM radio and I want to know if anyone knows how to change the frequency from channel 52 to 37. And do I just put a channel 37 crystai in the receiver. Also I have another airplane that has a FM receiver and would like to use the F 7 Cap for this plane instead of using 2 radios, how do I switch over to FM and set the FM channel up? Appreciate any help...Thanks R Sparks

RE: Futaba PCM Receiver question
To change the channel of a transmitter, it must be done by a qualified individual who has the proper test equipment to verify that the transmitter is on frequency and within the proper output and bandwidth specifications. It is illegal in the U.S. for the individual to just swap crystals.
You CAN swap crystals in receivers, but you'll need to make a range check to verify that everything is OK. Some receivers can only take a change of a few channels before they need to be retuned. If in doubt, then have it done by someone who can properly-tune the receiver.
