Default 14MZ Problem

Hello.
I got my 14 system about 3 weeks ago.
I study it and today I have tried to install the receiver and to change modulation to G3 2048 and change freq. (72MHZ).
System is not able to change the Freq.
Facts:

1) 14 Transmitter works fine with AM and PCM receivers.
2) New Receiver ID sets properly.
3) I have tried with the DSC cable. The system detects the Cable and shows the connection but still not able to change
and keep beeping and keep sending data to Receiver but nothing happens.
4) Modulation is G3 2048
5) Both Transmitter and receiver are with 72MHZ modules
6) Tried to change to different frequencies but still not change.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Default RE: 14MZ Problem

Recently an unfortunate mishap broke two of the switches on my 14MZ. I sent for and received Futaba switches of the correct function. However, on removing the switch module I found that the switches have a small circuit board attached for the switch plug. I cannot get hold of or find a supplier of the MZ switches. Can I safely remove the small board from the broken switch and solder it to the replacement switch. A simple question and an easy task to complete, but are there any electronic differences between the MZ switches and Futaba switches which fit all other TXs.

Thank You.

Hi Warwick,

We do carry both types of switches for the 14MZ, the ones with the PC boards attached and the ones without. When you order these switches you need to let the rep know which ones you need. These switches are specific to the 14MZ and ones for the other Futaba radios will not work.

As for removing the PC board, yes, if you feel comfortable desoldering the board, then it should be an easy fix for you to do at home.

I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support team at 217-398-8970 opt 2, or via fax at 217-398-7721.

After you make your settings, exit to the main menu before you turn the transmitter power off. If you turn the power off before you exit the menu, your settings may not be saved.
