exhaust oil soaked servo.
Hi.
While removing the servos from a profile airplane (OMP Katana), I've noticed that the tail servos which get some exhaust oil from the engine are dripping oil from somewhere. I've already seen this before on another profile and now this is the second time it happens to me, so I opened a servo and I noticed that the servo's PCB is all wet with oil.
Can I trust these servos ?
Should I clean their PCB and interior with Contacts spray, or do anything else ?
Thanks, Iftach.

RE: exhaust oil soaked servo.
Hi Iftacha,
Fuel residue is very harmful to electronics and will over time soften plastic causing it to break. It is recommended that if you cannot protect electronics from fuel residue by relocating them, then you clean them thoroughly after each flight. A good Electronics cleaner should help the PC boards, but depending on the degree of saturation, we cannot say whether they can be trusted or not.
I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.
