Default Conflicting reports about programming capabilities

Hello,

What I'm reading and what I'm hearing are different.
I read that the 7CH will do all of the programming that the 9ch will do.
But I've been told that there are certain things the 9 will do that the 7 WON'T.

Question 1
Who's right? []

Question 2
I want to do spoileron functions and elevon functions.
Can I achieve this with the 7CH?

I own the 7CAP.

The 7CAP will not do all that a 9 will do.
Elevons are not a problem for the 7CAP.
Spoilerons, I'm afraid I don't know. However the 9 will give you more options in a 4 servo wing.

You might want to post additional information as to your expectations of spoilerons.

For example - with a two servo wing, I am able to use those as Ailerons and as flaps but only if I place the second aileron servo on channel 6. If you define the second aileron servo as channel 5 the TX can not provide the flap functions easily.

Hope this helps

Barry

Thanks Barry.
I'm kind of surprised Futaba's moderators haven't jumped in here on this yet.

As for my expectations of the functions, I guess I'm not 100% sure I know yet.
I want to outfit a 77" Goldberg Extra 330 for 3D work, but I do confess I'm not a 3D whiz yet.
I've only owned one other 3D plane, it was a Sig Mayhem (a fine plane, by the way).
I could do water falls and some modest hovers, but no rolling harriers or any of the really good stuff.

I guess what I'm really after is: "What does the extra $150.00 premium buy me?" (other than 2 more channels)

*edit* Had the model of the airplane wrong.

Hi Bosch232,

I am sorry, we are only here whenever we can get a break from our regular jobs on Monday through Fridays. We appreciate everyones patience in waiting for our repsonses.

The 7C does not a few features of the 9C that more indepth programming will require. Linking in Pmixes, and a few default mixes are not there.

For an in depth comparison of the difference in the features of these two radios, please see our chart at:

http://www.futaba-rc.com/radios/feature-compare.html

I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.

No worries.
My comment was more a reflection that you've probably spoiled us (rather than meant as a complaint).

Thanks for the link, that's precisely what I needed to see.
