Channel eleven question/problem/feature
I have a 9C TX on channel 11 with which I wanted to use an inexpensive 4- or 6-channel RX for a rebuilt trainer, but it seems the only Futaba RXs that will work with my TX are relatively expensive 8 or 9 units. Also, I had planned to use the radio with park flyers. But all the micro and regular 4- and 6-channel low-range FM RXs begin at channel 16. Why is that?? Whatever the problem, is Futaba working on a fix for it? If not, what are my options other than using PCM?
Thanks,
Bidwin

RE: Channel eleven question/problem/feature
There really isn't anything "broken". Single-conversion receivers on the low R/C channels are susceptible to interference generated by transmitters on the high R/C channels. They get what is called "image" interference. This is unavoidable and cannot be prevented in single-conversion receivers. In order to eliminate those difficulties, Futaba does not recommend that you use them on those R/C channels.
As said above, there is no "fix" for the difficulty in a single-conversion receiver. Dual-conversion receivers do not have problems with image interference.
The interference is caused by the nature of radio waves, and not by something in the design of R/C equipment.
