Default Dual rate trim change

I have an 8UAP and I noticed that when I switch between dual rates, the elevator's trim position changes a few degrees. Is there a way to correct that?

Very likely the stick pot either needs to be recalibrated, or it needs to be replaced.

Hmm, never thought it would be that. Everything else seems to work properly, and the trim position on high rate and low rate each time I switch is consistent. Although I know the radio was kept in great condition, it was used often before I purchased it, so I wouldn't be surprised if it needs a little maintenance. Is that a very complicated or expensive process and would I have to send it in to Futaba, or is that something I could easily do myself?

TIA

Recalibrating the transmitter takes but a few minutes in the service shop. Replacement of a stick pot is a bit longer. Cost to check out and calibrate a system with a computer transmitter, assuming nothing is actually wrong with the unit, is a flat $35.00 for your transmitter. If a stick pot had to be changed, then you'd be charged only the parts and labor for the job, no flat-rate applies, and it would cost about $45.00 or so. That also includes checkout and calibration.

Any transmitter that has dual rates that cause the trim to move when you flip the switch either is a real old one or needs work. Older units would move the trim when you changed rates. No getting around that.

something i found that works is to trim your plane on high rates and then low rates don't effect trim changes
