8U Super problem
Using a Futaba trainer cord I plugged a Futaba 8U Super into a Hitec Flash 5 X.
I got smoke from both transmitters.
The 8U has a component located on the back side of the board between the two wire plug, and the trainer jack that is a crispy critter.
It is burned to the point that i cannot identify what type of component it is. Are schematics available so I can fix this ? Or can I post a picture and get a component identification so I can replace it ?
I cannot identify the component that overheated in the Hitec Flash 5 X. My nose tells me it is on the left side of board that the LCD panel is on, but visually there is no defect.
For what it is worth an initial check shows both transmitters appear to be functioning normally, I certainly have not exercised the full functionality of either one but they both will recall prior model setups and the controls work as expected. I am leaving for vacation and will not be able to evaluate them further until after the 10th of July.
Can I get some assistance from the forum to identify, obtain, and replace the part in the 8U myself, or do I have to send it to the service center ?

RE: 8U Super problem
Schematics for Futaba equipment is available only to authorized Futaba service centers. Without actually seeing the damage to the transmitter, we'd not know what part you may need, nor what damage may have happened. We'd suggest that the transmitter be sent to the service center.
Your Hitec transmitter should be sent to the Hitec service center.
