Default Slider as throttle trim in 12Z

I've been using the left slider in my 9Z as the throttle trim using the TCV (throttle curve) function. The first point is assigned to the slider. Is there any way to do the same with my new 12Z? I know I could set up the idle down and throttle cut functions but the idle in my Webra 160 is more variable than I would likt it to be...

Hi Aresti-RCU,

This is very easy in the 12Z, simply go to the Function menu, at "Throttle" toggle over to "Trim" , press the push button and use the toggle to select the slider, stick or switch that you want this on.

I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.

Sincerely,

Should I assume it can't be done?

We did some checking and were surprised. It's easier than we thought. Go into a programmable mix. Select H/W as the master and then LS when it takes you to the switch-picking menu. Now select throttle as the slave. Adjust the amount of mix percentage to suit. Now your throttle will work off the throttle stick, the regular throttle trim button, and the left slider.

If you want the slider to work for only a small amount of its range, then use the VTR function. You can set the point to near the end and its rate to 0%. You'll have a flat curve that will suddenly leap to the end of its travel when the slider moves to that end.

It works as prescribed. However, somebody else pointed me in a different, easier way (thanks Joe). How about this: go to function, click on the trim assigned to throttle, and select the slider from the sliders/sticks/switches screen...

I cannot believe it was that easy!

Ahh...we thought you wanted to keep the regular trim button and have another way to fine-adjust the throttle. Of course, you did just the thing to completely move the trim lever.

You are correct on you comment, I wanted to keep the regular trim and have a second analog trim. The 100% analog trim is my second choice though....
