I got a TP-FSM synthesized module for my 8UAPS Tx, and I would like to know if I should run a different range check procedure with this configuration. I read in the Towerhobbies web page that antenna should be extended all the time to avoid damaging the module, that's why I am asking.

You range check your transmitter/receiver set the same, whether you have a fixed-channel module or the synthesized module in your transmitter.
