I have the sig something extra and it calls for duel aileron servos in the wings. It also calls for two 6 inch extentions for the servo wires. My question is....do I have to use a y-harness on top of that or is there some sort of duel connector I can hook to the 6 inch extentions and then hook that into my wire coming from my receiver? I'm using a futaba standard radio.

You do not need a y-harness. Normally 1 aileron goes on channel 1 while the other to either channel 6 or channel 7 depending on the mode you want to use.

rcdivot,
Your initial post indicated you have a "futaba standard radio." By that I'll assume you mean it has only 4 channels. (One each for aileron, throttle, rudder, and elevator.) The response you received from darylp is correct, but intended for someone with at least a 5 channel transmitter that allows such options as flaperons and spoilerons by connecting separate aileron servos to different channels.
With a 4 channel radio, your only practical choice involves a Y harness from the receiver to each independent aileron servo. To save cost, you might shop around for a Y harness with extra long leads, thereby omitting the extensions. Try Radical RC for their selection.
Enjoy your SE... great airplane!

rcdivot,
I beleive they call for extension wires because the servo wires do not normally reach to the end of the wing tubes. In my Something Extra, I did use extensions, but at the receiver end because the servo leads did reach to the end of the wing tube and more. I would feed the leads through the fuse as I attach the wings, then make the final connections inside the fuse. If you are going with a y-harness, make sure your servo arms are mounted on opposite sides of the aileron servos so you will get opposite action and not flapping action.
Good luck.

My servo wire only sticks out of the wing tube about 1 inch. Not enough for me to be satisfied with so I am using a 6 inch extention on each servo wire through the tube.
I was thinking maybe I could use the duel extention below in place of a y-harness that has too much wiring for me.
Would this work?

Hi rcdivot,
If you are using a 4 channel system, you will want to use the Y-harness for both ailerons in channel 1. The dual extension you are looking at will be fine.
If you are using a 6 channel system or above you will want to place one aileron in channel 1 and the other in channel 6, which if you need more length, a regular servo extension FUTM3910 will be fine.
I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support team at 217-398-8970 opt 2, or via fax at 217-398-7721.

Krysta,
Thank you very much for your help!
Since I have the 4-channel Futaba radio, I will just use the dual extention rather than the y-harness.
Thank you.
