9254/9254 servos ?
I am using a 9253 servo with a 401 gyro and the servo feels notchy when operating, smooth when there is no power going to it. I thought something was wrong with it so I went and bought a new 9254 servo and the same thing , the servo feels notchy when operating, Is this normal? It doesn't seem to me like it shouldn't have such steps in the movement, I figured a high dollar digital servo should be operating smooth as glass. So I am curious if I have defective servos or what?

The smoothness of a servo is affected by the transmitter coding and the gyro it's being used with. You may wish to adjust the gyro's gain and sensitivity to see if they have an effect. Your transmitter may also need work if it's got some age on it. The pots in the sticks may be going bad.
