Just got my 9CAP radio and just learned I have to buy a new module for each channel!!!
I don't mean to be rude but this will get expensive. I need at least 4 channels to enter a race (R/C boats). Why is there no Synthezised module for such an expensive radio as the 9C?
I feel like I am being robbed.
If the modules are $100 each including Rx crystal then I might have to return the radio and get a Hitec.
I don't want to do this because the radio is awesome
.
Any help here? What are my options?

Essentially there are no options, you can always replace the crsytal in the module for the radio, but that nulls the warranty on the whole radio and is against FCC regulations. (see below) Hopefully there will be a new module that allows the channel to be chosen, like the 9Z until then however, we are stuck with purchasing the 60.00 modules to keep the warranty valid.
The applicable Federal Regulation is as follows:
TITLE 47--TELECOMMUNICATION COMMISSION (CONTINUED)
PART 95--PERSONAL RADIO SERVICES
Subpart E--Technical Regulations
Sec. 95.645 Control accessibility.
(a) No control, switch or other type of adjustment which, when
manipulated, can result in a violation of the rules shall be accessible from the transmitter operating panel or from exterior of the transmitter enclosure.
(b) An R/C transmitter which incorporates plug-in frequency
determining modules which are changed by the user must be certificated with the modules. Each module must contain all of the frequency determining circuitry including the oscillator. Plug-in crystals are not considered modules and must not be accessible to the user.
