9Z Failsafe
I'm a new 9Z owner ,and a first time PCM owner. I've been using FM for 12 yrs now with no problem glitching, that was not fixable. My question is ? is failsafe always on if you are using a PCM rec. . I really do'nt like the thought of being locked out of control of my plane , because of a little glitching? Thanks for your help. :spinnyeye TomBob

9Z Failsafe
tombob,
When a PCM receiver gets a signal it can't interpret, it "locks", that is, it holds the last known good command. If you've set a failsafe setting, then the receiver will move the servos to the pre-set failsafe postions after about one second of bad signals. If you've set no failsafe postions, then the receiver just stays locked out.
The lockout is unavoidable. If you get interference, the receiver locks out. If it's very heavy interference of long duration, then failsafe takes over. Most fliers set the failsafe to low throttle and all other controls to neutral or other flight-safe condition.

9Z Failsafe
BAX: Thanks for getting back to me, on my question. So if i understand this , and do nothing to my radio, and get a glitch the rec. will hold it's last signal sent. Or i can set the failsafe to any control movement i want, if a glitch happens ? Thanks TomBob
