This might have been asked earlier, but I could not find it. I want to know if this situation is possible:
My student has a Futaba 6EXAS radio. It is 72mhz, with the square plug.
My radio is the Futaba 6EX radio. It is the 2.4GHZ version. It also has the square plug.
Can I use these two radios for training via the "buddy box" method? If so, does my 2.4GHZ radio become the student's t(x), and the 72mhz radio become the instructor's t(x)? Also, if this is possible, do I leave the power on the 2.4GHZ radio off (like you do for 72 to 72 mhz setups?)
Thanks....colin

Hi cjensen,
Yes, the Micro to Micro cord FUTM4415 will work fine with these two radios. When using these together, if you want the 2.4Ghz to be the teacher, you must of course activate the Trainer option. If you want the 72Mhz 6EXAS to be the teacher, you must set the transmitter to PPM and use a PPM receiver. Everything else is the same, leave the power off of the Student radio, either one can be the Trainer or student, make sure that you are using the correct receiver for the Teacher radio, etc.
I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.

Hi Krysta,
Thanks for your reply. I did goof in my original post. The radio the student has is the Futaba 6EXA. (The earlier version of the 6EXAS). I do not believe it is PCM. So will this radio work with my 6EX 2.4GHZ system? And will the student's standard receiver that came with that radio work?
Sorry to bother you again - you must be busy answering all our questions!
