Default 9Z WCII Synthesizer Module

My 9Z WCII with Synthesizer module is approximately 5 years old. I need to have it serviced for the same thing again - it appears the synthesizer module keeps going out of calibration. What I again thought was receiver interference cleared up when my buddy programmed his Tx for my plane and it went away. Now he has one of the first 9Zs sold with synthesizer module - and in all these years he has had no issue. I also have to say I treat my equipment better than he does - I would expect his to need care but it doesn't. Is there an issue with the modules? How can I be sure it won't happen again after a third time? Should I just forget it and wait for the sectrum module? Just trying to sort it out - thanks.

Synth modules should be checked annually for calibration. They can go out of 'cal' over time.

Should the whole Tx be sent in or just the module? Is the recommendation the same for the 9C module? Thanks.

We'd like to see the entire transmitter and module because the transmitter is part of the system, but it's not essential.

I have a 9ZAP with the synth module and I would like to have the ratchet removed on the throttle as well (just bought a Heli). I see there is a $60 service charge level for "checking out" a Tx system. What is done during this service? I plan on sending mine in for service but would like to know what's going to be done. Thanks.

Oh, and about how long should I expect to be without my radio?

n8kny,

The charge of $60.00 you are asking about on our website is for a complete "System", transmitter, receiver and servos. This includes putting each of these items on our scopes and test equipment, doing a visual exam of all internal and external parts, changing the lithium battery in the transmitter if needed and retuning the module and receiver.

If you are sending in only the transmitter and module, the charge is only $35.00. Again, with the same service listed above.

Since this is our busiest time of the year, our turn around time as of today is 8 business days from the day your merchandise is received until it is on its way back to you.

Sincerely,
Krysta
