Current software version for 12FG?
#1
To have one Futaba radio which would fly all of my receivers, including the 6 channel FASST receivers for my 6EX FASST,
had to upgrade from my Super 9C to a Futaba 12FG. Got the 2.4 Ghz module on order for it.
What is the current software version for the 12FG?
Thank you,

Krysta:
My 12FG is version 1.1. How do I go about getting the new firmware? From reading the ads, it appears that we should be able to download it from Futaba, but Google wasn't able to find it for me.
Also, how do I hard reset my 12FG to factory defaults, mode 2?
Thank you,
Chris Shaker

Subscribing - have a 12FG with 1.1 as well. I'm thinking it's posted on the Futaba Flyers Club site. I just sent in my paperwork, so the wait is on...

Same here. Just sent in my Futaba Flyers paperwork today.
I did not realize that the 12FG changed the channel mapping from that used by other Futaba radios.
Thought I was running into a mode 1 vs mode 2 problem, before noticing that in the manual.
Not sure why the engineer thought it was a good idea. But the cool thing is that the channel assignments
*are* programmable, so I changed the mapping for my model to match the mapping on my older radios.
Also, it appears that the radio can switch between PPM, PCM, PCM3, and different frequencies as part of
the model memory. That is really slick, and beats the hell out of the procedure for changing between PPM
and PCM on my Super 9C. It feels good in my hands, too.
The more I learn about this radio, the more impressed I am with it.

I've had the 9C for a long time and this is the first major radio upgrade with this type of programmability. I really like the ability to program any channel to any servo - this was a major reason I jumped up to the 12FG.
Some programming is slightly different than the 9C (for example - dual rate and expo in the same screen on 9C, on the 12FG there are flight conditions, dual rate, and AFR which are all separate and customizeable) The ability to select wing and tail types and it automatically setting up the mixes was nice too.
Overall - very impressed.
Now for the Futaba gurus - what changes were made between 1.1 and 1.2 sw versions? Is there a quicker way to join the Futaba Fliers Club? Can I fax or e-mail a scanned copy of my details? I just did this to [email protected].
Thanks,
Jason

FYI - E-mailed a copy of my paperwork to join FFC the other day and was able to download the SW to upgrade to 1.2 sw today. Use the address I listed above and you will be fine.
