Default R156F Help

I purchased an R156F from my LHS a couple of months ago, but since I didn't need it right away I never got around to buying the crystal and putting it into service. I finally got the crystal and some S3111 servos today and I tried hooking everything up, but it won't work. The transmitter I am using is a 7C set on PPM mode. I'm on channel 13. I know the technical specs recommend not using below 16, but I'm stuck since Futaba saw fit to not put a module on the 7C. When I apply power to the receiver the servo jumps a hair, but then nothing. If I cycle the transmitter power it also jumps. Please help!

Default RE: R156F Help

The first thing I would want to check is that you do not have a "dual conversion" crystal in that receiver. The R156F requires a single conversion or "short" crystal. But since it is not recommended below channel 16, even the correct crystal type could be what is causing your problems.

Yes, I ordered the "short crystal" (FUTL62**). All documentation for this receiver states I may "experience interference" not "complete inoperability."
