Default Region Coding question

Bax, Krysta,

1/ What is the purpose of Region Coding the 12FG, 12Z, and 14MZ? Why only these sets?
2/ Are the 12FG, 12Z, and 14MZ 2.4 GHz (without modules) Region Coded?

Regards

Bax
Modules have region codes, and won't work with a transmitter that has a different region code.

Bax
The region code is hard-coded into the transmitter module. You would need to obtain a European module. Likely a service center doesn't have the means to re-code the transmitter module, which would require a chip-burner, and proper software. That software wasn't released by Futaba.

The region code in the transmitter can be reset by the service center, but then the older modules won't work because they would no longer match the transmitter's code.

Krysta
Only the 12FG, 12Z, and 14MZ are region coded.

Krysta
Futaba receivers are not Region Coded, this only pertains to the transmitters. Receivers will be the same country to country.
