12FG Switched flap settings
Firstly I should point out that the wing type being used is ailerons with two servos and flaps with two servos.
My aim is to have the flaps on a two position switch so that I can have a take off setting and a landing setting.
It was easy - unless I missed something - to set this up so the foregoing was acheived, however I can adjust only the full flap setting. What I need is to be able to adjust the intermediate setting for the take off flap. I tried by adjusting the point curve udjustment on the AFR setting but this seems far from a perfect approach. I just hope there is a better way of setting it. I can find nothing in the manual which suggest one.
Another approach, but left very little room for adjustment was to set the mid point where I wanted it and then set the extreme full flap position.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Nigel Smith

RE: 12FG Switched flap settings
The easiest way to do this is by using 2 Offset mixes.
1.) Offset as master to Flap as slave, link On, Switch C in the Center position and make the rates +50%.
2.) Offset as master to Flap as slave, link On, Switch C in the Down position and make the rates +100%.
Having Link On in these two mixes will insure that if you are using a mix for two flap servos, they both will work off this mix .

RE: 12FG Switched flap settings
With respect thats as clear as mud
I thought I had cracked it today when I toyed with just the left wing. I had set the two flaps end points and added the trim so that the rotary knob (LD) would allow me to adjust the centre point (take off flap) which was exactly as I wanted. When I added the right wing it didnt work so well. What LD did now was not to adjust the position as in the left wing but in opposition like in ailerons. The second flap servo had been reversed but surely having done so should not the effect be the same on both or are the various rotary knobs different in this respect? Would putting the adjustment on a different VR solve the problem? Since what I partialy achieved is what I want it would be noce just to know how to get the centre up/down trim to be the same for both flaps.
Hope you can help.
BTW it is very easy if you are toying with these everyday to forget that the ocasional user is not going to be as familiar which is what I guess happend in your previous reply.

Hi,
It seems my reply may have been a little out of hand considering perhaps you may have had to work on this to acheive the result I wanted so I must apologies. I havnt sorted it yet but I now think I understand what you mean.
Kind regards
Nigel Smith
