Default 9CAP

Hello,

I have been out of RC for about 5-6 years and I have a 9CAP that hasd not even been powered on in that time.

Should I send the unit in for a thourough inspection prior to using it again? or do you believe as long as I replace the battery all should be good to go.

It has been stored in a protective case the whole time.

I actually turned it on and it still has all of my settings form previous planes.

If I were to send it in what is an approximate cost if all is well.

One more question, I would like to upgrade to 2.4 Ghz system, is the only difference between the R617FS 7-Channel and the R6008HS 8-Channel syetm are the number of channels.

Is it possible to switch back and forth between 72Mhz and 2.4 Ghz in the field?

Thanks in advance.

For an system unused for a number of years, the old battery packs would most certainly be suspect, so their replacement is a good idea. Your system should be "good to go" with the new battery packs.

To change to the 2.4 GHz FASST system, you just plug in the needed transmitter module. To go back to 72 MHz, just swap to the 72 MHz module. It's as easy as that!

The R617FS and R608HS receivers do have the channel differences, but they also have coding differences. If you get the TM-7 transmitter module, you will not be able to use the 8-channel receiver. The TM-8 module, though, can control any of the aircraft FASST receivers...you change its mode as needed.
